Youth Ministry Policies and Guidelines

Youth Dress Code

Parents are expected to assist in clothing selection for their students for trips. Students not meeting the following criteria will be asked to change clothing. Students that asked to change continually will be sent home at parent’s expense.

Our goal is to honor God through modesty!

  • Shorts can be worn but must be longer than the arm and hand extended to the side of the student.
  • Jeans must not reveal the student’s underwear or bellybutton. No undergarment showing.
  • Straps on tops should be three student’s fingers wide.
  • Tops should also be long enough as to not reveal any skin between top and bottoms. Shirts must cover belly when arms are raised.
  • No cleavage to be shown with any clothing.
  • Only one-piece or Tankinis (with no more than 3 inches of belly showing) swimsuits. Bikinis, French cut, and Speedos should not be worn.
  • No distasteful designs or messages on shirts. Appropriateness will be at the Youth Pastor’s discretion.
  • Youth should honor God in all they wear.

Youth Scholarship Guidelines

The youth, parents, and/or guardian will make the request for scholarship support directly to the Youth Ministry Finance Team Leader.

The church will work to readily make available scholarship support for Youth Mission Trips, Discipleship and Evangelism Activities but is not guaranteed. Scholarship support for Fellowship Activities will not take priority over Missions, Discipleship and Evangelism Activities.

Youth participation in Youth Sunday School and one additional weekly youth or church ministry is a requirement for scholarship support. Their participation is to be regular and consistent.

The Youth/Parent is expected to pay as much as possible. The youth will be encouraged to participate in costs for the trip or activity from their own means and earning opportunities. Consideration will be given to households with multiple youth participants.

Youth must be willing to participate in Youth Fund Raising Activities prior to the need for the funds if at all possible and if not commit to supporting those activities as soon afterwards as feasibly possible.

Scholarships for Discipleship and Evangelism Activities may be provided as needed and as available for outreach to unchurched friends and school mates. A personal youth testimony of need and outreach will be required.

At the discretion of the Youth Ministry Finance Team Leader, s/he may gain input from the pastoral staff or Youth Leadership Chairperson.
